Is Hemp Flower Banned in Texas Now?

A lot of consumers who regularly use and benefit from hemp flower are nervous about the new law in Texas that took effect on August 2, 2020.

Texas Governor, Gregg Abbott, has banned all smokable and vapable hemp products sold in the state of Texas. Smokable hemp products include vape cartridges, disposable vape pens, hemp pre-rolls, and raw hemp flower specifically advertised and marketed as smokable.

However, the hemp flower Lanai Hemp sells at local retail stores in Texas is not marketed or intended to be used as a smokable product and is sold within legal guidelines. Our flower is also lab tested to be 2018 Farm Bill compliant (less than 0.3% delta-9 THC).

If you currently use our hemp flower, rest assured that you can continue infusing it in drinks as well as adding it to foods by cooking or baking – we encourage you to be creative! Based on the enormous popularity of our hemp flower, and the multiple ways to use and consume it, leads us to continue to offer it for these purposes.

According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, “Properly tested and labeled hemp flower, marketed for use other than smoke (e.g as a tea or food additive) does not fall under the retail ban contained in code 300.104”.
